Visa Requirements for Serbian Citizens
Visa requirements for citizens of Serbia are administrative entry restrictions placed on Serbian nationals by the authorities of countries and territories across the world. As of 2021, the Henley Passport Index ranks the Serbian passport 36th among the passports of the world in terms of travel freedom, tied with that of Peru. This is because Serbian passport holders are permitted visa-free entry or access with a visa on arrival to over 100 destinations worldwide.
Visa exemption is granted to Serbians in roughly 80 countries around the globe, most often for purposes of tourism, business or trade activities, or transit. The period of visa-exempt stay permitted varies from 10 days up to 1 year depending on the destination.
Electronic Travel Visa Authorization programs for Serbian citizens are available for short-term stays in 35 countries around the globe. These simplified protocols allow travelers from Serbia to obtain a visa or visa waiver for the destination exclusively online from the comfort of their own home. They remove the need to visit an embassy to submit supporting documents in person or wait in long border lines to apply for a visa on arrival.
To visit these same countries for long-term stays, it is necessary for travelers from Serbia to apply for a visa from an embassy or consulate of their destination. Additionally, an embassy visa for Serbian nationals is required to travel to over 105 countries no matter the duration of stay or motive for the trip.
These different visa requirements for Serbian passport holders are outlined in greater detail below.
