The visa policy for the UAE details the countries that require a visa and what activities they are authorized to carry out during their stay. The eVisa is available for Indians planning to visit Dubai for tourism and leisure. The following are the main features the online visa offers to Indian citizens:

  • Valid for 2 months for its first use
  • Grants a single-entry in the country
  • Allows for a stay of up to a month
  • It can be used at any international airport in the UAE

Indian passport holders should note the eVisa does not authorize to partake in any professional activity (paid or otherwise). If they are interested in employment opportunities in the UAE or would like to relocate there, they should schedule an appointment at the Embassy of the UAE or Consulate in Mumbai for further details.

Once Indian citizens receive their approved eVisa, they have 2 months to use it for their entry. They will be granted a stay of a month and can use it at any international airport in the UAE.

We must remind travelers from India that the eVisa is electronically linked to the passport they used during their application. If they reach the country with a different passport (for example, after having had to renew it or if they share dual citizenship), they will not be authorized to enter.

Indian passport holders must note they can only obtain a visa on arrival if they arrive from the US with a valid Green Card and a US Visitor Visa. Otherwise, they will need a previously granted eVisa.
