Turkey Visa Requirements for Saudi Arabian Citizens

If you are a Saudi Arabian citizen planning to visit Turkey, you will need a travel document to do so. Turkey visa requirements for Saudi Arabian citizens, as well as the application process, vary depending on the intended period of stay or purpose of the trip.

Saudi travelers will either need to apply for a Turkey e-Visa or a visa obtained from a Turkish embassy or consulate in Saudi Arabia.

For visits for tourism and business purposes, the simplest way to acquire the necessary authorization is to apply online for a Turkish e-Visa.

What Is a Turkey e-Visa for Saudi Arabian Citizens and What Does It Do?

The Turkey e-Visa for Saudi Arabian citizens is an online visa that permits holders to travel to Turkey without having to apply for a visa at an embassy or consulate.

The Turkey e-Visa was introduced in 2013 to improve the speed and convenience of the visa application process for visitors to Turkey. Citizens of eligible countries, such as Saudi Arabia, may use the e-Visa online application system to apply for an electronic visa ahead of their leisure or business trip to Turkey.

The Turkey online e-Visa can be used for a single entry or multiple entries. It allows Saudi nationals to stay for up to 90 days per visit.

The e-Visa is valid for 180 days from the date of issue.

Saudi travelers to Turkey can apply for the e-Visa any time before their intended trip begins. However, it is highly recommended to submit an e-Visa application at least 48 hours before departure.

Is a Turkey e-Visa Obligatory for Saudi Passport Holders?

Most foreign nationals, including Saudi citizens, are required to gain prior travel authorization to enter Turkey. As Saudi Arabians are not eligible to apply for a visa on arrival for Turkey, this authorization must be gained by applying for a visa before traveling.

For straightforward tourism and business purposes, Saudi travelers should apply online for a Turkish e-Visa.

Available via an online application system, the Turkey e-Visa for Saudis is a quick and simple way to obtain authorization to enter the country, saving a lot of time and effort compared to applying at a Turkish embassy or consulate, as with a traditional visa.

Passport control officials at the Turkish border can check a traveler’s e-Visa while scanning their passport in the online system. Even so, it is a good idea to carry a printed copy of the e-Visa with you in the unlikely event of problems with the system.

Do Saudi Arabian Citizens Need a Visa or a Turkey e-Visa To Live In Turkey?

Citizens of Saudi Arabia who wish to travel to Turkey for reasons other than short-term tourism or business, such as to work or study, must contact a Turkish embassy or consulate. Saudi Arabian nationals require a residence permit in order to live in Turkey and different types of visa for purposes like accepting employment or studying there.

Additionally, any Saudi Arabian visitor who intends to stay in Turkey for a period exceeding 90 days for business or tourism has to apply for a type of long-stay visa for Turkey rather than the e-Visa.

Turkey e-Visa Application for Saudi Arabian Nationals

Saudi Arabian nationals can swiftly and easily obtain an e-Visa for Turkey through the online e-Visa application system.

Travelers must complete information such as personal details and passport information, as well as details of their planned visit to Turkey.

If an applicant’s travel dates change after applying, they must obtain a new e-Visa—travel dates cannot be amended via the online system.

The Turkey e-Visa is electronically linked to the applicant’s Saudi passport. Therefore, this same passport must be used to enter Turkey. Applicants should ensure all information inputted during the e-Visa application process corresponds to the information on their passport.

If the passport used in the application is lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise rendered invalid, it will be necessary to apply for a new e-Visa for Turkey with the new Saudi Arabian passport.

Documents Required for the Turkey e-Visa for Saudi Arabians

To apply for a Turkey online visa, Saudi Arabian citizens must provide the following items:

  • Valid passport that will not expire for at least 60 days beyond the duration of their trip to Turkey and at least two blank pages
  • Current email address to which the approved e-Visa will be sent
  • Details of a credit or debit card to pay the fee

Saudi Arabian applicants may also be asked to provide additional documentation in support of their application.

Travelers can enter Turkey multiple times within 180 days from the date of issue of the e-Visa.
