Turkey e-Visa Requirements for Chinese Citizens

  • Simplified Application Form
  • Expert Application Review
  • Approved visa or money back

The Turkish government created the Turkey e-Visa in 2013 to facilitate the arrival of international travelers, including Chinese citizens. The e-Visa replaces the previous “sticker visa” and offers numerous advantages to foreign visitors with a more competitive price, online availability, and quicker processing times.

What is the Turkey e-Visa for Chinese Passport Holders?

The Turkish visa policy details the main features the e-Visa offers to Chinese travelers. The Turkey e-Visa is an online visa valid for 6 months upon issuance. It grants Chinese visitors a single entry and a stay of 30 days. It can be used for tourism, business, or transit. Lastly, Turkey’s e-Visa can be used to enter the country by air, road, or sea.

Thanks to this online visa, Chinese passport holders are exempt from scheduling a visit to an embassy or consular office. They can simply apply for and obtain it from the comfort of their homes.

Chinese nationals interested in visiting Turkey for a more extended period or planning to relocate to Turkey for professional or academic purposes must enquire at the Turkish embassy in Beijing about which travel document suits them more.

Turkey e-Visa Requirements for Chinese Citizens

Chinese travelers who find the e-Visa matches their travel needs can proceed to apply for the online visa. Before initiating the process, they should read through the international travel requirements for Chinese nationals. The basic conditions for Chinese applicants include the following:

  • Passport with a validity of at least 6 months on the date of arrival
  • 2 blank pages available on the same passport
  • Credit or debit card
  • Email address

Chinese applicants must ensure the passport will be valid for at least 180 days (6 months) on their arrival in Turkey. They should also confirm it includes 2 blank pages for entry and exit stamps. If these requirements are not met, we recommend Chinese travelers renew their passports as soon as possible before applying for the e-Visa.

Since all communication from the Turkish government will be sent by email, we recommend providing an email address they frequently use. The Turkish government will communicate with Chinese travelers solely by mail (including the confirmation of the e-Visa and its issuance).

Additionally, applicants should check the credit or debit card they will use to pay the e-Visa processing fee is valid for international transactions.

Turkey e-Visa Application Form for Chinese Passport Holders

Chinese citizens who meet the requirements for this online visa can proceed to the Turkey e-Visa application form. This is an online questionnaire with simple and straightforward questions that usually takes only a few minutes to complete. Chinese applicants will have to submit the following information:

  • Personal details (name, date of birth, nationality)
  • Passport information (number, issue, and expiry date)
  • Travel itinerary (dates of travel, tickets, confirmation of booked accommodation)

Chinese nationals must make sure they travel to Turkey with the same passport as they used to apply for the e-Visa. This is important for Chinese citizens with dual citizenship or those who have needed to replace their passport before traveling.

It is essential to double-check the answers they provide since the application form cannot be amended once submitted.

Traveling to Turkey with underage visitors from China

Chinese groups planning to visit Turkey with minors should note that each traveler must arrive with their own previously approved e-Visa. Parents can fill their children’s forms on their behalf using the same email for communications and the same payment method without any problems.

Payment of the e-Visa Processing Fee for Chinese Applicants

Chinese citizens finish the application process with the payment of the e-Visa processing fee. Most international credit and debit cards are allowed, and the applicants must simply confirm they are activated for online payments.

Applicants should plan their application times accordingly. The Turkey e-Visa is usually granted within 24 hours. Nevertheless, we recommend applying at least 3 business days before the intended arrival to account for busy touristic periods.

How Will Chinese Travelers Receive their Turkey e-Visa?

Chinese applicants will receive the e-Visa in a confirmation email through a downloadable link. Chinese visitors must print out a copy of their granted e-Visa and display it at passport controls when they arrive in Turkey.

Once they reach Turkey, Chinese arrivals will be required to display their authorized e-Visa and passports before entering the country. We recommend that once in Turkey, they safe-keep their e-Visa in their possession at all times.

Chinese citizens must note the visa on arrival is not available for their nationality. Before their arrival, they must have an e-Visa or an alternative travel document. Lastly, they should plan their arrival and departure within their e-Visas’ validity and the 30 days of visitation granted.
