Turkey e-Visa Information

The Turkey online e-Visa, introduced in 2013, is a single or multiple entry visa, that allows stays of 30 or 90 days, depending on the nationality of the passport holder.

Eligible citizens are required to complete the Turkey online eVisa application form to enter the country.

The Turkey e-Visa is valid for 180 days, from the date of issue.

The Turkish e-Visa, which replaces the previous “sticker visa,” was created to expedite the visa application process which in turn allows visitors to save time when applying for the visa and when entering the country.

The e-Visa for Turkey is available for nationals traveling for tourism and business purposes.

Travelers that are planning to go to Turkey for other purposes, such as to work or study, should apply through a Turkish Embassy or Consulate.

Turkey Online e-Visa Requirements

Applicants from Turkey eVisa eligible countries are required to complete the online eVisa application form with personal information such as personal details, and passport information, to enter the country for tourist purposes, or for transit. To apply for a Turkey tourist online visa, applicants from Turkey eVisa eligible countries, are required to:

  • Have a passport valid for at least 60 days beyond the duration of stay.
  • Have at least 2 blank pages in the passport to receive entry and exit stamps at Turkish border control.
  • Provide a current email address  to receive the approved Turkey tourist online visa.
  • Provide a credit or debit card to pay the Turkey e-Visa fee.

Upon approval, the traveler must print a copy of the eVisa for Turkey, to show to border officials when arriving to turkey.

    Once granted, an approved e-Visa for Turkey may not be cancelled. However, it may not be used.

    Health insurance is not mandatory to obtain an approved Turkey e-Visa. However, travelers are advised to have up-to-date health insurance to cover the cost of any medical needs during their stay.

    Applicants may proceed with the visa verification directly on the Turkey government website, to check visa status online.

  • Can I apply for the Turkey e-Visa in an Embassy?

    No. The Turkey e-Visa is an online visa that can only be obtained exclusively online. Applicants do not need to go to an Embassy or Consulate in order to apply for a Turkey tourist online visa.

    However, those planning to travel to Turkey for purposes other than tourism or business, such as to work, or study, are required to apply for a visa from a Turkish Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence.

  • Do I need to get an e-Visa if I am just in transit?

    All travelers in transit through Turkey by air, may not exit the international airport if they do not hold a Turkey eVisa. If travelers, while in transit, wish to visit Turkey must apply for an e-Visa.
