The Singapore Electronic Arrival Card (SG Arrival Card) for Nigerian citizens is a requirement for entering the island country. Passengers from Nigeria must complete an online form before traveling to Singapore.

This streamlined digital process replaced a previous paper-based system that travelers would complete on the plane before landing. Nigerians must now fill in an SG Arrival Card questionnaire before setting off. The electronic system makes entering the country a smoother process than ever before.

Do Nigerians Need a Visa for Singapore?

Yes, Nigerians must hold a valid Singapore visa to visit the city-state.

Singapore visas for Nigerians can be obtained at a Singaporean embassy or consulate abroad, such as. Holders of passports issued by Nigeria can apply at the Honorary Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Lagos.

Nigerians must also complete an SG Arrival Card. This is required in addition to a valid visa and must be presented at border control to gain entry to Singapore.

What is the SG Arrival Card for Nigerian citizens? 

The SG Arrival Card for Nigerians is a form that must be completed when traveling to the Republic of Singapore.

Nationals of Nigeria must provide their details, travel plans, and make a health declaration.

In the past, this was done on the flight to Singapore by filling out a paper Disembarkation/Embarkation Card (D/E Card). This system has been discontinued in favor of the Singapore Electronic Arrival Card for Nigerians.

The SG Arrival Card system is completely digital. Visitors from Nigeria must complete the form online before traveling to Singapore.

Once completed, the Arrival Card is electronically linked to the traveler’s Nigerian passport. This system allows passengers to pass smoothly through immigration control when they arrive in Singapore.

It is important to note that the SG Arrival Card for citizens of Nigeria is not a visa and cannot be used in place of one. Nigerians will need a valid visa in addition to the Arrival Card.

Singapore Arrival Card Application for Nigerians

Individuals traveling from Nigeria must complete an SG Arrival Card application form online before they embark. This must be done within 3 days before the date of arrival in Singapore.

The questionnaire is straightforward. It takes a matter of minutes to fill in.

Applicants must enter the required information into the relevant fields. This information includes basic personal details, such as:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth

Travelers must provide the following details from a valid Nigerian passport:

  • Passport number
  • Nationality
  • Date of expiry

It is necessary to provide contact details to apply for the Singapore Arrival Card for nationals of Nigeria, including the following:

  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Residential address

Nigerian applicants must also enter their travel details, including the following:

  • Date they intend to arrive in Singapore
  • Mode of travel
  • Accommodation during the stay
  • Date of departure

There are also a number of health-related questions to answer.

Documents Required for the SG Arrival Card for Nationals of Nigeria 

Nigerian citizens must have several items to hand when applying for the SG Arrival Card. These requirements for Nigerians include the following:

  • Valid Nigerian passport
  • Email address to receive the approved Arrival Card
  • Method of payment to cover the processing fee
  • Travel itinerary

The individual’s Nigerian passport must continue to be valid for a minimum of 6 months after the trip to Singapore. If it is set to expire during this time, the traveler should renew it before applying for the SG Arrival Card.

Upon arrival in Singapore, Nigerians will have to show the same passport they registered in the SG Arrival Card application.

As well as the passport and the SG Arrival Card, Nigerians require the following documents to enter Singapore:

  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover the visit to Singapore
  • Yellow fever vaccination certificate
  • Proof of return or onward travel
  • Documents needed for entry to the next destination

Traveling to Singapore from Nigeria

Once the application is submitted, a copy of the Arrival Card will be sent to the Nigerian traveler by email to the address they provided.

The entry permit is electronically linked to the Nigerian passport. It is advisable to print a copy and bring it to Singapore in case a border officer asks to see it.

The Singapore Arrival Card for citizens of Nigeria allows a single entry to the country.

Passengers arriving from Nigeria can use it to enter Singapore at the following ports and border checkpoints:

  • Singapore Changi Airport – SIN
  • Woodlands checkpoint
  • Tuas checkpoint
  • Singapore Cruise Centre
  • Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
  • Changi Point Ferry Terminal
  • Changi Ferry Terminal

According to Singapore’s visa policy, Nigerian nationals must have a valid visa in addition to the SG Arrival Card.
