Singapore Arrival Card Requirements for Citizens of New Zealand

  • Simplified Application Form
  • Expert Application Review
  • Approved visa or money back

Singapore introduced an Electronic Arrival Card Online system, which is available to New Zealander citizens and that replaces the previous Disembarkation/Embarkation Card paper system.

All travelers visiting Singapore must have a Singapore Electronic Arrival Card to gain authorization to enter the country, including NZ visitors.

What is the SG Arrival Card for NZ Nationals?

The visa policy for Singapore states that every foreign national visiting Singapore should be in possession of an SG Arrival Card. This document permits NZ holders a single-entry stay in Singapore of up to 30 days.

One of the key benefits of having an SG Arrival Card is that this electronic system expedites arrival at border control once NZ nationals arrive in the country by avoiding the need to queue.

The SG Arrival Card is not a visa, and in no case can replace a visa when visiting from New Zealand.

Application Steps to Obtain a Singapore Arrival Card as a NZ Citizen

As a New Zealander, you should fill in and submit the application form for an SG Arrival Card before you travel to Singapore.

NZ citizens are required to submit the following data when completing the Singapore online form:

  • Basic personal information such as full name, contact details, and place/date of birth
  • Details from their passport such as expiry date and passport number
  • Data about their travel plans in Singapore, including arrival date and proof of onward travel, and a health declaration.

It is advised that New Zealander citizens check their answers carefully before sending the SG form since mistakes cannot be edited once it is submitted. Errors and incomplete information can lead to delays when processing the Singapore Electronic Arrival Card from NZ.

The Electronic Arrival Card application form is online, meaning there is no requirement to visit an embassy or consulate in person. The form takes minutes to complete and is easy to submit.

Once it is approved, the SG Arrival Card is linked electronically to the applicant’s passport.

Requirements for a Singapore Electronic Arrival Card for New Zealanders

Any NZ travelers planning to visit Singapore should familiarize themselves with the visa policy for NZ citizens before beginning the application form.

NZ passport holders require the following documents and information in order to successfully apply:

  • An up-to-date New Zealander passport. It should be valid for at least six months from your date of arrival in Singapore.
  • A valid visa or debit card to pay the SG Arrival Card fee
  • An email address. This is required to send the Singapore SG Arrival Card once it is approved.

New Zealander citizens traveling to Singapore are reminded that having a valid Singapore Electronic Arrival Card, also known as the SG Arrival Card, is mandatory to gain permission to enter Singapore.

How will I receive my SG Electronic Arrival Card as a New Zealander?

Your SG Arrival Card application is usually processed within 24-48 hours. A notification will be sent to the NZ applicants’ email addresses to let them know of the approval of the document.

Following approval, your Singapore Electronic Arrival Card is linked electronically to your NZ passport. As a consequence of this, if the NZ passport is lost, damaged, or stolen before the citizens’ trip to Singapore, they will need to apply again to obtain a new SG Arrival Card.

On arrival in Singapore, you will be asked to show the NZ passport used to apply for your SG Arrival Card, as well as any other key travel document, depending on your case (Singapore visa, yellow fewer certificate, and further proof of accommodation).

Do NZ Citizens Need a Visa to Travel to Singapore?

New Zealand nationals do not need a visa to enter Singapore, as long as their stay does not surpass 30 consecutive days. However, they do need to apply for the SG Arrival Card to gain legal access to the country.

Any New Zealander traveler visiting Singapore for more than 30 days needs a Singapore visa in addition to the SG Arrival Card. It is recommended that they visit the Singaporean consulate in Wellington.

SG Arrival Card’s Allowed Ports of Entry from NZ

When traveling from NZ to Singapore with an SG Arrival Card, citizens are allowed to use the following ports of entry:

  • Singapore Changi Airport – SIN
  • Woodlands checkpoint
  • Tuas checkpoint
  • Singapore Cruise Centre
  • Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
  • Changi Point Ferry Terminal
  • Changi Ferry Terminal

NZ nationals must note the SG Electronic Arrival Card cannot be extended. Therefore, they must abide by the maximum length of stay in the country, which is 30 days.

Covid Update for Singapore

Last update: 17/11/2022

Visitors may now enter Singapore with an SG Arrival Card and, if applicable, an approved visa. Passengers aged 13 and over must either be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with proof meeting Singapore’s standards, or have a negative test result. Proof of recovery is also accepted instead of a test. Travelers must comply with Singapore’s requirements and regulations during their stay. Passengers in transit must have their luggage checked through to their final destination. Consult Singapore’s visa policy to see the entry requirements for each nationality.
