  • Simplified Application Form
  • Expert Application Review
  • Approved visa or money back

The Sultanate of Oman’s eVisa is an online travel document issued by the Royal Oman Police to visitors from over 70 countries, including the United Kingdom, for short-term stays in Oman for tourism purposes.

British travelers can request the Oman eVisa by completing an online application without needing to schedule an appointment at an embassy or consulate. They can submit their eVisa request from anywhere in the world within a few minutes.

Types of eVisas for Oman Available to British Passport Holders

The visa policy for Oman offers different visa options to international visitors depending on their country of origin. UK nationals can choose from the following Omani eVisas types:

  • 26B eVisa – eVisa valid for 1 month  and grants a single entry
  • 36B eVisa – eVisa valid for 1 month per stay and allows multiple visits during one year

Citizens from the United Kingdom based in one of the neighboring GCC countries can also request the 29A GCC eVisa, which grants them a single entry and a stay of up to 28 days. They must confirm to possess a GCC Residence Card of at least 180 days and be a qualified professional to receive this online visa.

Please note this eVisa is not available for underage Britons.

We must remind you that the eVisa for Oman does not authorize British passport holders to carry out any professional activities (paid or otherwise).

If UK nationals are interested in employment opportunities or considering a permanent relocation in Oman, they must schedule an appointment at the Embassy of Oman in London for further visa options.

Application Requirements for UK Citizens Applying for the Oman eVisa

We recommend that visitors read the visa requirements for Britons before initiating the eVisa application from Great Britain. These conditions explain which countries they can travel to with an online visa and what prerequisites they must meet to be eligible.

The Royal Oman Police lists the following eVisa conditions for visitors from the United Kingdom:

  • Have a British passport with a validity of 180 days or more on their arrival in Oman
  • Supply a digital copy of their passport’s biographical page
  • Take a recent identification photo in digital format
  • Register their eVisa petition with a frequently used email address
  • Possess a debit or credit card that can be used for online transactions.

UK nationals must ensure their passport will be valid for at least 6 months on their intended arrival date in Oman. If this condition is not met, we advise them to submit their passport for renewal before beginning the application process.

Special cases & recommendations when applying for an Oman visa from the UK

Britons with dual citizenship must take into account the Omani eVisa is a unique online visa that cannot be transferred to a second passport. If they travel to Oman with a different passport from the one they applied with, they will not be able to enter Oman unless they obtain a visa on arrival.

They must ensure to provide good quality and readable images of their UK passport’s biographical page and a recently taken personal photo (passport-style).

We recommend registering their Oman eVisa request with an email address frequently accessed and to ensure their bank card has been previously activated for digital transactions.

Traveling from the UK to Oman with children

Any UK visiting party with underage travelers must note that each group member must reach Oman with their own eVisa previously granted.

If British citizens are planning a family holiday in Oman, they must submit individual applications for each child regardless of their age.

Applying for the Oman eVisa from the United Kingdom

UK travelers who meet the basic requirements for the Oman eVisa can begin the application process by completing an online form with their biographical and passport details.

The Oman online visa form is a simple questionnaire with standard questions for online visas. During the first part of their eVisa form, Britons will be required to confirm their registration and supply the following personal information:

  • Full name
  • Mobile number
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Gender
  • Country of citizenship

They will receive an email in their inbox requesting them to confirm their application. Once done, they can continue with the process. To continue the eVisa form, they need to supply their British passport details such as the number, expiry date, and issuing country and then upload digital copies of its biographical page and personal ID photo.

Applicants from the UK should carefully review all the information they are providing on their form. Any mismatch or spelling mistakes could result in a denial of their petition, and they will need to re-apply. Processing fees are non-refundable unless justified.

UK travelers conclude the eVisa form by paying the eVisa processing fee. The payment is issued via a secure online platform, and they must simply ensure their card is active for online payments and with sufficient funds.

Evaluation process of the Omani eVisa applications by British petitioners

The Royal Oman Police analyzes all the eVisas requests and usually replies with a resolution in 24 hours.

UK citizens who have answered their forms correctly will receive a confirmation email where they can download their authorized eVisa in PDF format, which they must print out at their earliest convenience.

We recommend submitting the eVisas forms at least 3 business days for the arrival date to account for busy touristic periods.

Arriving in Oman from the United Kingdom

Britons should ensure their arrival and departure meet the authorized dates on their approved eVisa. They can enter Oman via any international port of entry by air, sea, or road.

Upon reaching a border crossing, UK citizens can head straight to the queues for eVisa holders to save time at passport controls.

Visitors from the United Kingdom should note the eVisa cannot be extended. If they need to prolong their stay due to an unexpected issue, they should contact a Royal Oman Police Station and request a new visa before their current eVisa expires.
