The government of Anguilla has confirmed the launch of a simple online visa application portal to facilitate the process of obtaining travel authorization to travel to the British Overseas Territory in the Carribean.

Quincia Gumbs Marie, the Hon. Parliamentary Secretary Tourism for Anguilla said of the e-Visa launch: “This is a significant and welcome development for our island, which will also have a positive impact on the growth strategy for our tourism industry”.

“As we expand beyond our traditional source markets of North America and Europe and as we target extended-stay visitors, it is important to make it as easy and convenient as possible for our guests to come to our island”, she added.

At present, most tourist arrivals in Anguilla comes from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, but it is expected that the launch of the e-Visa for Anguilla will attract visitors from other territories around the world to the Caribbean islands.

Who Is Eligible for an Anguila e-Visa

Although citizens from a number of countries, including all European Union member states, Australia, Canada, and the USA, can currently travel to Anguilla visa-free for stays up to 3 months, the new electronic visa application will greatly expedite the process for nationalities who traditionally had to apply for an embassy visa in advance to travel to the islands.

Additionally, travelers who have a valid visa to enter the UK, US, or Canada may also apply for an online visa for Anguilla through the new electronic portal.

An approved Anguila visa online will permit travel to the islands for leisure and business purposes, and may be issued as either a single entry or multiple entry e-Visa.

The single-entry option will permit a stay of up to 90 days, and must be used to enter Anguilla within 30 days of issue.

The multiple-entry option will permit multiple stays of up to 90 days with each entry, and will be valid for 1 year from the date of approval. The latter option must also be used to enter the territory for the first time within 30 days of being approved.

Online Anguilla Visa Requirements

To apply for an Anguilla visa online, eligible citizens will simply be required to fill in a simple application on the government eVisa portal with basic personal, passport, and travel information. It is expected that this form can be completed in just a few minutes.

Additionally, all applicants will be required to have an eligible passport valid for at least 6 months, and to provide a current email address to which the Anguilla e-Visa will be sent upon approval.

The government of Anguilla has also confirmed that online visa applications submitted through the portal will be processed incredibly quickly, within 3-5 business days.
