Once UK citizens are ready to travel to Myanmar, they can do so by entering one of the specially designated ports of entry with their eVisa.
Approved airports include Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport, and Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.
Likewise, there are also 5 approved land ports where travelers can enter using their Myanmar eVisa. These are the Tachileik, Myawaddy, Kawthaung, Tamu, and Rih Khaw Dar land checkpoints.
During the border crossing, travelers from the United Kingdom need to bring along a physical copy of their Myanmar eVisa, along with some additional documentation.
- Proof of sufficient funds – Enough to sustain the individual while they are traveling through Myanmar
- Reservation of accommodations – A physical copy of the confirmed reservation of the individual’s hotel, hostel, apartment, or another form of accommodation(s)
- Proof of tickets of an onward journey – This can be in the form of a ticket to an onward destination (i.e. a bus voucher to Thailand) or a return journey back to the individual’s home country (i.e. an airplane ticket to London).
British citizens should be sure to use the same passport to Myanmar that they used to complete the Myanmar eVisa application online. This is due to the fact that the details of the UK passport must match those on the approved electronic visa.
