This online visa makes it easier to enter Malaysia for short stays for tourism and recreation.

The Malaysian tourist visa for Pakistanis can be applied for and received fully online, meaning that applicants do not have to visit a physical Malaysian embassy or consulate in Pakistan before making their trip.

What is the Malaysia Online Visa for Pakistanis?

The Malaysian eVisa for Pakistanis is a single-entry visa that lets citizens of Pakistan visit Malaysia for up to 30 consecutive days for the purposes of tourism.

This travel document can be used by citizens of Pakistan to enter via air. It is also available to be used in land borders, although in this case, they have to carry a cover letter of their trip. Sea border crossings are not allowed with the eVisa.

Travelers of Pakistan should visit their nearest embassy of Malaysia if they are thinking of:

  • Staying longer than 30 days in Malaysia
  • Enter and exit the country more than once
  • Traveling to Malaysia for reasons other than tourism.

In those cases, Pakistanis will be required to obtain another type of visa.

The Malaysia eVisa for Pakistanis is valid for 90 days from the date it is approved.

Once they have received their eVisa, Pakistani visitors to Malaysia may spend up to 30 days within the country at any point within that 90-day period.

  • A digital copy of the Pakistani passport’s biographical information page
  • A recent passport-size photo of the applicant
  • Proof of accommodation while in Malaysia and transportation out of Malaysia at the end of their stay, e.g., hotel, hostel, etc. bookings and tickets for plane, train, boat, etc.
  • Proof of funds for the duration of the trip to Malaysia

How to Apply for a Malaysian Electronic Visa from Pakistan?

Obtaining a Malaysia e-Visa as a Pakistani citizen is quite simple and straightforward.

All Pakistani passport holders need to do is follow 3 basic steps:

  • Completing the Malaysia electronic visa application form with personal data, passport information, and travel details
  • Double-checking that all information is accurate, truthful, and correct as of the best of their knowledge
  • Paying the eVisa processing fee with a valid debit or credit card

Some of the data that Pakistanis must provide include:

  • Full name
  • Date and place of birth
  • Nationality
  • Passport number
  • Passport expiry and issuance date
  • Contact details

Once all these steps are done, citizens of Pakistan can consider the application completed and they need to wait until further information is provided to them via email.

How is the Malaysian tourist visa for Pakistanis processed and delivered?

Malaysia eVisa applications from Pakistan are processed online and are usually returned within one (1) to three (3) business days.

Once approved, the Malaysian eVisa for Pakistani passport holders will be delivered to the Pakistani applicant via email as an attachment in PDF format.

The eVisa to enter Malaysia must be printed out in order to be presented on arrival to border officials. The Pakistani passport is also required.

Can the Malaysia Online Visa for Pakistanis Be Extended?

The Malaysia tourist visa for Pakistanis is valid for 90 days from the date of approval. Once it expires, the Malaysian eVisa cannot be extended or renewed.

However, Pakistani travelers to Malaysia may simply get a new eVisa for Malaysia by going through the same online application process again.

Similarly, if a Malaysian online visa application from Pakistan is rejected, the applicant can submit a new eVisa application through the same portal.

Only the following can enter Malaysia: Malaysian nationals and permanent residents, passengers with a Long Term Visit Pass, arrivals from Singapore under the Vaccinated Travel Lanes scheme, diplomatic passport holders, travelers with a MyTravelPass (MTP), students with written approval from Malaysian immigration, passengers traveling to Langkawi under the Langkawi Travel Bubble, passengers with an Entry Permission Approval. Passengers are required to have a negative RT-PCR test result from within 2 days before departure. Passengers arriving from Singapore or traveling to Langkawi under the approved schemes, and passengers with an Entry Permission Approval must also have a vaccine certificate showing they are fully vaccinated, and a travel insurance policy covering MYR 100,000. Passengers traveling to Langkawi must also have a travel package from a licensed agency. All passengers are subject to a PCR test on arrival at their own expense, medical screening, and quarantine for 7, 10 or 14 days. There are some exceptions, depending on where you are traveling from and to. All travelers are obliged to install the “MySejahtera app” on their mobile device and complete the health declaration at least 24 hours before departing. Passengers traveling to the state of Sarawak must fill in an “enterSarawak” form and an “eHealth Declaration Form” online before departure. The maximum transit time through Kuala Lumpur (KUL) is currently 24 hours (usually it is 48 hours).
