Egypt Tourist visa Information

The government of Egypt introduced the Electronic Egypt Tourist Visa Authorization in December 2017, allowing citizens of eligible countries to visit Egypt for touristic purposes by completing an online visa application form before departure.

The Egypt Online Tourist Visa allows for single and multiple-entries depending on the applicant’s necessities at the moment of application. The online Egypt e-Visa allows travelers 30 days in the country. The validity of both the single and multiple online visa is 90 days from the date of issue.

The online tourist visa Egypt application form is simple and straightforward, and can be completed within a few minutes. Applicants need to provide passport information, personal and contact details, and current employment status.

To extend the Egyptian e-Visa, travelers must contact the Egypt Department of Immigration while still in Egypt, at least a week prior to the current visa expiry date.

To visit Egypt for other purposes, such as Business activities, foreign citizens are required to contact their nearest Egypt Embassy or Consulate.

The Egypt Online Visa Application Requirements are listed below, in addition to the Egypt visa requirements for documents:

Upon approval, the Egyptian e-Visa will be electronically linked to the traveler’s passport and is also sent to the traveler’s email address. It is required to print the e-Visa to present at the port of entry in Egypt for border officials to confirm.

Travellers must provide the same passport used for applying for the Egyptian e-Visa online when arriving in an Egyptian airport.

Complete the Egypt e-Visa online application

You can complete the simple Egypt e-Visa application form in just a few minutes by filling in basic personal and passport information, and contact details. You’ll also need to upload a few pieces of supporting documentation.

It is also recommended that you carefully check that all the information provided on the form is correct and error-free before submitting the application, to avoid any unnecessary processing delays.

Confirm Payment for the E-Visa

Before submitting the Egypt e-Visa application, it is also necessary to pay the mandatory Egypt e-Visa fee.

The fee must be paid using a valid credit or debit card authorized for online transactions. Other payment methods are not accepted at this time.

Receive the approved Egypt e-Visa

Once processed and approved, usually within 7 business days, your approved Egypt e-Visa will be electronically linked to the passport you used to complete the application form. A copy is also sent to your e-mail address.

It is necessary to travel to Egypt using this same passport. It must be presented to immigration officials on arrival to gain entry to the country. However, you are also advised to print a paper copy of your approved e-Visa to present alongside your passport in the rare case of failings with the electronic system.

Egypt is welcoming tourists and eligible citizens can apply for an eVisa for Egypt online. Travelers must have a negative RT-PCR result from a test taken no more than 72 or 96 hours before departure (depending on the country of origin), or a rapid antigen test taken at most 24 hours before departure of the last direct flight to Egypt. Children under 12 years old and fully vaccinated passengers with a certificate are exempt from the test. Passengers arriving from high-risk countries are subject to a PCR test on arrival at their own expense, and quarantine for 14 days. Check the requirements for travelers of different nationalities to enter the country according to the Egypt visa policy.
