British travelers can visit Cambodia with an electronic visa. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia introduced the eVisa in 2006. It facilitates the application process to obtain a valid travel permit to visit their country.

The eVisa for Cambodia is an online visa that Britons can apply for within 30 minutes from the comfort of their home. They do not need to schedule an appointment at an embassy or consular office.

Requirements for UK Citizens Applying for the Cambodia eVisa

We recommend consulting the visa requirements for Britons before initiating the eVisa request. These specify which countries can UK passport holders travel to with an electronic visa and what activities they are authorized to carry out.

British nationals must confirm they meet the following conditions for the Cambodian eVisa:

  • Have a UK passport with at least 2 blank pages for entry and exit stamps and valid for 180 days on their arrival date in Cambodia
  • Supply a passport-style photo recently taken
  • Register their eVisa application with a current email address
  • Provide a bank card to pay the eVisa processing fee

Britons with a passport set to expire 6 months or less on their arrival or not having blank pages must send it for renewal with their local authorities before they apply.

UK citizens with dual citizenship will need to travel to Cambodia on the same British passport they used during their application process. The eVisa will be electronically linked to that specific document and cannot be transferred to a second one.

Applying for the Cambodia eVisa from the United Kingdom

British nationals can request the eVisa for Cambodia by filling out an online questionnaire. They will be required to provide some personal and passport details:

  • Name
  • Surname
  • Nationality
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Passport number
  • Passport issue and expiry date
  • Passport issue country

Applicants from the UK should carefully review their answers before submitting them. All the details entered into the application form must be accurate and match the traveler’s passport information.

Errors and missing information can cause complications in the Cambodia visa application process leading to processing delays and, in some cases, a visa denial.

Britons planning a family trip to Cambodia with minors should note each arrival must reach the country with their individual eVisa previously issued. They can fill in their children’s applications on their behalf without any problems.

British travelers conclude the eVisa application by paying the processing fee. Most international debit and credit cards are authorized, and they must simply confirm these have been activated for online transactions and with sufficient funds.

Evaluation of the Cambodian eVisa requests by UK citizens

The Cambodian authorities analyze all the eVisa forms submitted by British nationals and usually reply with a resolution to their request within 3 to 4 business days.

If they have answered all the questions in the electronic visa forms correctly and meet the requirements, citizens of the United Kingdom will obtain an approved eVisa directly issued to their passport. They will also receive a confirmation email which we recommend they print out a copy of before their travel.

eVisa for Cambodia: Main Features for British Travelers

The Cambodian visa policy defines which nationalities are eligible to request the electronic visa and what activities they can participate in. Britons can use the Cambodian eVisa if their travel plans match the following:

  • They will visit Cambodia for tourism
  • Their visit will not exceed one month
  • They will only require a single entry for their trip

UK passport holders should note the eVisa does not authorize any activities other than tourism. If they plan to travel to Cambodia for a long-term relocation or other purposes, they should request a more suited visa at the Embassy of Cambodia in London.

Traveling to Cambodia from the United Kingdom

British tourists can reach Cambodia with the granted eVisa by one of the following airports:

  • Phnom Penh International Airport
  • Siem Reap International Airport
  • Sihanoukville International Airport

If travelers from the United Kingdom plan to enter Cambodia by road, they should plan their route by one of the following border crossings:

  • Cham Yeam
  • Poi Pet
  • Bavet
  • Tropang Kreal Border Post

Validity of the Cambodia visa for British citizens

The eVisa is valid for 3 months for entry. This means that if British eVisa holders have not entered Cambodia 90 days after receiving their approved electronic visa, they will need to reapply for a new one.

Britons should also confirm they stay in the country for the allowed 30 days. If they encounter any unexpected issue and need to prolong their trip, they should contact the National Police Immigration Department office and request an extension.
