Do I Need a Visa for Bahrain from Egypt?

Yes, the Bahraini visa policy states that all citizens of Egypt need a visa to travel to Bahrain, no matter the intended length of stay or the motive for the visit.

Egyptian passport holders traveling to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the following purposes can take advantage of the streamlined online eVisa service to get their Bahrain visa rapidly:

  • Tourism
  • Leisure
  • Business

Egyptian passport holders are not eligible to obtain a Bahrain visa on arrival, and so must obtain a visa in advance.

To enter Bahrain for other purposes, such as to live, work, and/or study, you should inquire about the relevant visas and permits at the Bahraini embassy in Egypt.

What Is a Bahrain eVisa for Egyptian Citizens, and What Does It Do?

The Bahrain electronic visa for citizens of Egypt is a tourist and business visa that can be obtained online. It is regarded as the quickest and simplest way to get a visa to visit Bahrain.

The Bahrain eVisa for citizens of Egypt was introduced in 2016 by the Bahrain General Directorate of Nationality, Passports & Residence (NPRA). The aim of the eVisa program is to make it easier for foreign tourists and business travelers to enter the country by removing the need to wait in long immigration lines on arrival or to visit a diplomatic mission to submit a visa application in person.

An approved eVisa for Bahrain for Egyptian passport holders can be one of the following:

  • Single-entry visa that permits a stay of up to 2 weeks in the country
  • Multiple-entry visa that permits stays of up to 1 month at a time
  • GCC Visit visa – multiple entries for up to 1 month for residents of other Gulf Cooperation Council countries

Bahrain eVisas for Egyptians are valid to enter Bahrain for 90 days from the date of issue.

Egyptians who wish to travel to Bahrain for purposes other than tourism or business, or for longer consecutive stays, are required to apply for a visa from the Bahraini embassy in Cairo.

Documents Required for the Bahrain eVisa for Egyptians Application

The Bahraini visa requirements for Egyptian citizens state that it is necessary to have the following to submit an eVisa application:

  • Valid Egyptian passport (must be valid for the period of time you will spend in Bahrain, or the length of the visa, whichever is longer)
  • Digital image of the information page of the same passport
  • Copy of a confirmed air ticket for return travel
  • A confirmed hotel booking in Bahrain, or a copy of a relative’s CPR Reader’s printout if staying with family resident in the country
  • Stamped bank statements showing the last three (3) months of the traveler’s financial transactions and a final balance of no less than BD300 or the equivalent in foreign currency.

Note: Egyptian citizens are not required to have a guarantor in the form of a Bahraini commercial entity or national of Bahrain to obtain an eVisa. This is only necessary for embassy visa applications.

How can I apply for the Bahrain eVisa from Egypt?

You can apply for a Bahrain eVisa from Egypt in just a few minutes by following some simple steps:

  • Complete the Bahrain eVisa application with basic personal and passport information such as full name, nationality, date of birth, and passport number
  • Upload the relevant supporting documents in digital format
  • Supply the details of a valid credit or debit card to pay the Bahrain eVisa fee
  • Double-check the data supplied on the form to avoid any unnecessary processing delays that can result from small mistakes in the information provided.

After submitting an application, a Bahrain eVisa for Egyptian nationals is usually processed within 5-8 business days. Nevertheless, it is advisable to submit a visa form at least 30 business days in advance of travel to allow for sufficient processing time in the rare case of any delays.

How Will I Receive my Bahrain eVisa for Egyptian Citizens?

Once approved, the Bahrain eVisa for Egyptians is electronically linked to the traveler’s passport. For this reason, it is necessary to complete the online form with the details of the same passport you will later use to travel to Bahrain.

Additionally, a copy of the approved eVisa for Bahrain is sent to the traveler via email. This should be printed to present to Bahraini immigration officials at the border in the rare case of any failings with the electronic system.

For this reason, it is also necessary to supply a current email address you currently check when filling out the application online.

An approved Bahraini online visa from Egypt can be used for entry at Bahrain International Airport. It is now also possible to use the single or multiple-entry Bahrain Visit eVisas to enter the country via the King Fahad Causeway. However, the GCC Visit Visa cannot be used to enter by land.
