Azerbaijan eVisa Requirements for New Zealand Nationals

  • Simplified Application Form
  • Expert Application Review
  • Approved visa or money back

The Republic of Azerbaijan implemented the Azerbaijan electronic online visa, also called the Azerbaijan eVisa, in 2013.

This new system made it easier for New Zealand nationals traveling to Azerbaijan for a short stay to apply for and receive an online electronic visa.

The Azerbaijan eVisa authorizes entry to the country, facilitates the application process, and expedites entry through the country’s borders.

New Zealand citizens traveling to Azerbaijan eVisa should apply for an Azerbaijan eVisa online prior to traveling to the country. The process involves filling in an online application form and takes just minutes to complete.

What is the Azerbaijan eVisa for New Zealand Nationals?

The visa policy for Azerbaijan outlines the regulations regarding the entry criteria for each type of visa available for NZ nationals planning to travel to Azerbaijan.

Validity of the Azerbaijan online visa for NZ

The approved Azerbaijan eVisa allows New Zealand passport holders single entry to Azerbaijan for up to a maximum of 30 consecutive days. The reasons for travel can include tourism, leisure, business, or medical reasons.

Following approval of your Azerbaijan eVisa, you have 90 days to enter the country from New Zealand.

It is possible to increase the duration of your stay beyond 30 days once you are in Azerbaijan. To do so, New Zealanders are requested to visit the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

If you are a New Zealand national traveling to Azerbaijan for more than 30 days or for reasons such as work or permanent residence, you are instructed to visit your nearest Azerbaijani consulate or embassy.

Do NZ children need a visa to enter Azerbaijan?

If you are traveling with NZ children, they will each require an individual Azerbaijan eVisa.

This is the case whether or not they are listed on your passport.

Documents Required for an Azerbaijan eVisa for New Zealand Nationals

New Zealand citizens planning to visit Azerbaijan are required to follow the Azerbaijan eVisa requirements for New Zealand citizens.

You should have the following documents and information to hand before beginning your application:

  • A valid New Zealand passport. It must be valid for a minimum of six months from your date of arrival in Azerbaijan
  • A digital image of the NZ passport’s biographical page.
  • A valid form of payment such as a credit or debit card. This is required to pay the eVisa processing fee
  • An email address. The approved Azerbaijan eVisa will be emailed to this address in the form of an attachment, as well as linking electronically to your New Zealand passport.

Any New Zealand citizen traveling to Azerbaijan is required to check the visa requirements for New Zealand citizens before beginning their Azerbaijan online electronic visa application.

Application Steps for an Azerbaijan eVisa as a New Zealand Citizen

Due to the fact that the Azerbaijan eVisa application form is online, it means there is no time-consuming requirement to visit an Azerbaijani embassy or consulate.

The Azerbaijan online visa application form requires NZ citizens to provide basic personal data such as full name, date of birth, place of birth, and nationality.

Applicants from NZ are also required to supply information regarding their travel details to Azerbaijan, including flight information, date of arrival in Azerbaijan, and accommodation plans when they are in the country.

You are also required to supply information including your passport number, issue date, and expiry date, and certain health and security-based questions.

The final step is to pay the processing fee with a credit or debit card that is authorized for international, online payments.

Note: Once the form is submitted for processing there is no option to edit it. For that reason, it is advised that you carefully check your form before submitting it to avoid delays in processing.

You are required to complete and submit your Azerbaijan eVisa application form prior to traveling to Azerbaijan. Ensure that you leave sufficient time for officials to process your Azerbaijan eVisa before your departure date.

Azerbaijan eVisa: Processing time for New Zealand citizens

Your Azerbaijan eVisa is usually processed within 1-3 business days. Please allow extra time for processing, particularly during busy travel periods.

Once it is approved, the Azerbaijan eVisa links electronically to your New Zealand passport. A copy of the eVisa will also be emailed to the address used on your application.

Travel to Azerbaijan from New Zealand

The Azerbaijan eVisa authorizes New Zealanders to enter the country through any of their official air, sea, and land ports of entry.

You are required to print out your approved Azerbaijan eVisa and carry it with you during your trip to Azerbaijan in case border officials wish to inspect it on arrival.

In addition to this, you will be required to show the NZ passport used in your application. Travelers with dual nationality should check they travel with the correct passport.

Please remember that the passport used during the application process is digitally linked to the eVisa permit. Therefore, this is the passport that must be presented when arriving in Azerbaijan.
