Azerbaijan eVisa Requirements for Canadian Nationals

  • Simplified Application Form
  • Expert Application Review
  • Approved visa or money back

All Canadian passport holders planning to visit Azerbaijan must follow the Azerbaijan eVisa requirements for Canadian citizens.

The Republic of Azerbaijan implemented the Azerbaijan electronic online visa, also called an eVisa, in 2013. This made it easier for Canadian nationals visiting Azerbaijan for a short stay of up to 30 days to apply for and receive an online electronic visa.

The Azerbaijan eVisa authorizes entry to the country, facilitates the application process, and expedites entry to the country.

Canadian citizens planning to apply for an Azerbaijan eVisa will find that the application process takes place online and it is quick and easy to obtain by completing a straightforward application form.

Application Steps for an Azerbaijan eVisa as a Canadian Citizen

As the application form for the Azerbaijan eVisa is based online, it means there is no requirement to visit or contact an Azerbaijani embassy or consulate. The application form for Canadians takes minutes to fill in and submit for approval.

Nationals of Canada are required to provide information such as:

  • Name and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Place of birth
  • Nationality
  • Contact phone number
  • Email address
  • Home address
  • Passport number
  • Passport issuance date
  • Passport expiry date
  • Purpose of travel

Additional details required include certain health and security-based questions.

If you are a Canadian citizen traveling to Azerbaijan for a stay of more than 30 days or for reasons such as relocation, you are instructed to visit the Azerbaijani consulate in Ontario or the embassy in Ottawa.

You are required to complete and submit your Azerbaijan eVisa application form prior to traveling to Azerbaijan. Ensure that you leave sufficient time for officials to process your Azerbaijan eVisa before your dates of travel.

What Documents Are Required for an Azerbaijan eVisa for Canadian Nationals

If you are a Canadian national planning to visit Azerbaijan you are requested to check the visa requirements for Canadian citizens before beginning your Azerbaijan electronic online visa application.

Once the form is submitted for processing there is no option to edit it. For that reason, it is recommended that citizens of Canada carefully check their Azerbaijan eVisa form before submitting it to avoid problems or delays.

You should have the following documents and information to hand: a valid Canadian passport (minimum validity of 6 months), an image of the passport’s biographical page, a credit or debit card to pay the processing fee, and and email address.

Applicants of Canada are also required to supply information regarding their travel details to Azerbaijan, including flight details and the date of arrival in Azerbaijan, plus information about the accommodation you will be staying in.

When Will I Receive My Azerbaijan eVisa as a Canadian Citizen

Following submission of your application, your Azerbaijan eVisa is usually processed within 3 business days and even sooner. Please allow extra time for processing, especially during busy travel periods.

Once it is approved, your Azerbaijan eVisa will link electronically to your Canadian passport. A copy of the eVisa will also be emailed to the address used to register the eVisa application.

It is advised that Canadian travelers print out their approved eVisa to bring with them on their trip to Azerbaijan in case it is required for inspection by border officials when they arrive.

You will also be asked to present the Canadian passport used in your application. Travelers with dual nationality must therefore ensure they travel with the correct passport.

What is the Azerbaijan eVisa for Canadian Nationals

There are a number of different visas available for Canadians visiting Azerbaijan. The visa policy for Azerbaijan outlines the regulations regarding the entry criteria for each type of visa.

Once approved, the Azerbaijan eVisa permits Canadian passport holders single entry to the country for up to 30 consecutive days. The reasons for travel can include tourism, leisure, business, or medical reasons, among others.

You have 90 days since the eVisa approval to enter the country.

It is possible to increase the duration of your stay once you are in Azerbaijan. To do so, you must visit the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan to ask for an Azerbaijan eVisa extension for Canadians.

If you are traveling with children, they will require individual Azerbaijan eVisas, whether or not they are listed on your passport.

Travel to Azerbaijan from Canada

The Azerbaijan eVisa authorizes holders of Canadian an expedited entry to the country via all international air, sea, and road ports and border crossings.

If something happens to your passport, you must apply for a new Azerbaijan eVisa using the details from your new travel document. This is because the Azerbaijan eVisa is linked to the Canadian passport so will need updating with the new details.

In the unlikely event that your eVisa application is rejected, it is possible to apply for a new one at your nearest Azerbaijan embassy or consulate.
