Azerbaijan eVisa Requirements for United States Citizens

  • Simplified Application Form
  • Expert Application Review
  • Approved visa or money back

If you are a United States national traveling to Azerbaijan, you must have a visa to gain authorization to enter the country.

American citizens are eligible for an Azerbaijan eVisa, which is easily obtainable by filling in an application form online.

To gain official authorization you are required to follow the Azerbaijan eVisa requirements for American citizens.

What is the Azerbaijan eVisa for United States Nationals

The Azerbaijan eVisa allows single entry to Azerbaijan for American passport holders for a stay of up to 30 days.

In 2013, Azerbaijan implemented electronic online visas, also known as eVisas, for travelers from certain countries visiting Azerbaijan for a short stay for purposes of tourism, business, sports, education and medical treatment, among other reasons.

Once your Azerbaijan eVisa is approved, you have 90 days to enter the country. The eVisa becomes valid once you enter Azerbaijan and becomes invalid once you leave the country’s borders.

US children traveling to Azerbaijan will require a separate eVisa application each, whether or not they are listed on the applicant’s passport.

The visa policy for Azerbaijan outlines the details of types of visas for US nationals that plan to visit Azerbaijan.

How Can I Apply for an Azerbaijan eVisa as an American National?

Applying for an Azerbaijan eVisa is a straightforward process. The application form is online, meaning you avoid time-consuming queues at an embassy or consulate.

The Azerbaijan online visa application form contains basic questions that American visitors must complete such as:

  • Full name
  • Date and place of birth
  • Contact information
  • Passport data (number, issue date, expiry date)
  • Purpose of visit

If you make a mistake when filling in the electronic visa application form it cannot be changed once it is submitted. For that reason, it is advised that you double-check the form carefully to avoid problems with processing.

If you are a US citizen traveling to Azerbaijan for purposes other than tourism, business, or medical reasons, such as relocation, you are advised to contact a diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan in the US (consulate in Los Angeles or the Azerbaijan embassy in Washington DC).

As a United States citizen, you are required to complete the application form for an Azerbaijan eVisa and submit it for approval before you travel to Azerbaijan. This will ensure there is enough time to process your Azerbaijan eVisa before your dates of travel.

United States nationals planning to travel to Azerbaijan are recommended to read the travel conditions for United States citizens before beginning the Azerbaijan eVisa application.

United States passport holders applying for an Azerbaijan eVisa will require the following documents and information:

  • An up-to-date American passport. It must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Azerbaijan
  • An image of the passport’s biographical page
  • A valid and up-to-date credit or debit card, which is required to pay the eVisa processing fee
  • An email address. This is required as updates to your application and the final Azerbaijan eVisa will be sent to this address as well as linking electronically to your passport.

In addition to these documents, applicants from the United States are also requested to supply key travel details, including the date of arrival in Azerbaijan, as well as information regarding the address of the accommodation you plan to stay in.

Additional information required on the form includes passport details such as the passport number and expiration date, full name and date of birth, and certain health and security-related questions.

How Long Will it Take to Receive My Azerbaijan eVisa as a United States National

Following submission of your completed application form, your Azerbaijan eVisa is processed within 3 business days, although some of them are already in 24 hours.

American citizens can only apply for a visa on arrival in Azerbaijan if they are traveling on a direct flight with Azerbaijan Airlines from New York’s JFK Airport, but this can involve lengthy queues.

The approved Azerbaijan eVisa will be linked electronically to the applicant’s American passport. A copy will also be emailed to the address registered on the application.

It is recommended that you print out a copy of the approved eVisa to carry with you on your trip to Azerbaijan in case it is required for inspection.

When you arrive you will also be asked to present the passport you used to apply for the Azerbaijan eVisa. Travelers from the US with dual nationality should ensure they travel with the correct passport.

The Azerbaijan eVisa permits expedited entry to the country via international air, sea, and road ports and border crossings.

If you wish to extend your eVisa once you are in the country, it is possible by visiting the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

If your US passport is lost, damaged, or stolen prior to your trip to Azerbaijan, you must reapply for a new eVisa with your new passport details.
